Dr Arnold wrote: "An an envelope in my hand writing where I say I spoke directly to Mr. Armstrong and I asked him about Robert Taylor and I asked him if there were Christians in the Sardis Church and evidently I asked him something about Oberg and Ray whether they were there, probably for his ordination would be my guess. I quote his answer about Robert Taylor and I sum up his comment about Oberg and Ray and his statement that there are probably hundreds of Christians in the Church of God 7." Dr Arnold further states: "That note on the envelope that I wrote ca 68 - 70 mentions Oberg and Ray; the question I had asked Mr. A was whether they were there for his ordination; and my note says that he said they were not there. [Lawson] Briggs and I concluded that it was a minister named Stith from the Church of God (seventh day)."

Note from Lawson Briggs Dr Arnold Wrote: "Lawson Briggs talking about his conversations with Mr. Cole and he K’NEX Fairview Oklahoma where the Burrell family was it is today with the Oregon people that Mr. Armstrong fellowshiped with, and Cole makes a connection."

Background

Dr Arnold has directed programs and projects in the humanities and arts, including historical,  literary, and cultural studies for many years. He undertakes lectures and research and coordinates visiting scholars and performers across a number of institutions. He also directs development and public relations for foundations and charities.

Phillip is a published scholar who holds a Ph.D. in religious studies with a focus on apocalypticism and early Jewish and Christian history. He also holds two MA’s, one in American intellectual history and the other in historical theology.  In addition, he provides counselling to individuals and families fragmented over religious differences. He is known for his negotiation attempts to save lives during the Waco crisis and the Montana Freemen crisis in the 1990’s. He offers assistance to law enforcement as a “worldview translator.”

He was a founder and Director at History Research Projects Foundation, but due to his large range of commitments, was not able to continue in that role. However, he still assists in a number of other ways. Information
